Originally established in 1934, and based in historic premises in the Royal Harbour, Ramsgate, Marlec Marine Ltd has quickly established a reputation for high standards of engineering, and prompt, efficient service. Marlec Marine is a family run business and has built a reputation for being able to help where other companies fail, this is especially the case with older marine engines where the spares are hard to come by.

Marlec Marine specialise in hoses and fittings for which we hold an extensive range. Hoses can be made up in our workshop while you wait, or ordered for collection. We stock chandlery, engine parts and various other marine equipment in our shop which is open Monday to Friday, and also Saturday mornings, opening hours vary seasonally to meet customer demand. From time to time we sell second hand goods on behalf of other customers, including some excellent bargains. Marlec Marine also repair and service engines, using fully qualified and experienced marine engineers.

Marlec Marine supply from stock a comprehensive range of Gates hydraulic hoses, fittings, assemblies and couplings. Gates hose assemblies are known for their quality and reliability, and recognised and approved by major manufacturers. We stock BM6K MegaSpiral Plus and BC12 MegaSpiral hydraulic hose for ultra high pressure requirements to DIN 20023 4SP/SAE 100R13 and DIN 20023 4SP/SAE 100R12 respectively. We also supply CM2T Megaflex hydraulic hose for high pressure reuirements to DIN 20022 2SN/SAE 100R2AT/ISO S1436/II. M1T Megaflex hydraulic hose for medium pressure and numerous other hoses are available to order. 2PW high pressure cleaning hose for powerwash and jetwash is available from stock in sizes ranges from 5/16" to 2". A large selection of terminations enables you to make any connection. Our Gates crimpers are precise, and allow us to produce reliable assemblies on-site to the same high standards set at the factory.

Marlec Marine are an accredited supplier of Beta Marine engines, specialising in the Betamarine small diesel engine range. beta Marine supply a range especially engineered for yachtsman and work boats at an affordable price. The range of British built engines is from 2 Cylinder 479cc 10 bhp to 4 Cylinder 1498cc 37.5 bhp. The engines are easy maintenance with mounted sump pump and optional polyvee belt and pulley drive transmission with Betamarine high output alternators. The engine range is based upon the most technically advanced Kubota diesels that give you very smooth, quiet power, right through the speed range. These engines meet all current and projected exhaust emission regulations.

We hold a comprehensive range of marine filters for oil, air, fuel and water, including water seperators. The makes of filters are Nanni (nannidiesel), Fleetguard, Volvo, Crossland, Fram, and Racor. Sometime out of stock filters can be delivered the same day.

We stock Blakes boat paint, antifoul, primers, deck, top coats, thinners, enamel bilge and locker paint in a range of colours. Antifoulings include Ocean performer, Tiger Xtra, Cruising Performer, Hard Racing and Glide Speed. We also stock Blakes two part epoxy filler. Paints not in stock can usually be ordered for delivery within two or three days.
